There are a few biblical verses I like very much and here is
one of them.
“What has been is
what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there’s nothing
new under the sun.” (Eccl 1:9)
It is so true that all the things done by human are not brand
new. History keeps repeating; words restated; stories retold; ideas reaffirmed;
the same human errors appeared again and again. For mankind, our creativity is
limited. Scientists can clone, making new lives, but they cannot create soul.
However, in God, there are new things called “Miracles”.
What is a miracle? It’s an extraordinary thing that people have never heard of
and are incapable of doing. Try to imagine in the days of Moses. The ten
plagues, the split of the Red Sea, the falling of manna and quails, which one
of them we can ever do or has ever been done before? These are new things.
Nevertheless, we must be grateful as we can participate in
those “new things” that God is still doing. Say the salvation of a soul for an
example. The process itself is new and unpredictable. No one can predict when a
person will convert and no one can do anything to make another person surrender
his/her life to Jesus Christ. This is a new thing. The conversion of a man’s
life through Jesus Christ is also a new thing as people change after receiving
Jesus Christ. We can see a lot of testimonials of drug/ alcohol/ sex addicts who
changed their behavior completely after they surrendered their life to the
Lord.
Thanks the Lord that we can be part of the new things
through our faith in Him.
